There are a number of ways to spot what's going on in the skies over the country. Here are some of the best: Traffic cones.Traffic cones are signs that are placed in the roadway at certain intersections to prevent vehicles from turning onto the same road.A traffic cone is not a traffic signal and does not mean you're going to get a ticket. You can only stop for one car at a time at a given intersect...
From Orlando to Tampa, from Miami to Tampa Bay, Florida is getting more traffic than anywhere else in the United States.
But there are some big differences.
The state has an estimated 3.4 million traffic fatalities a year, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.
That’s more than double the national average of 2.6 million.
It also leads the country in vehicle crashes per capita, with 13.9 deaths per 100,000 residents.
And it’s the most dangerous state for cyclists, with almost 1.6 crashes per 100 people.
While Florida has been working to improve its safety record, the state is also trying to keep traffic flowing, especially in the most congested areas of the state.
The state’s traffic system has been under scrutiny since the March 17 shooting death of 25-year-old Robert Lee, who was killed when a car ran a red light.
In the wake of the death, the Florida Legislature has been debating a plan to overhaul its traffic-control system.
While the idea has gained steam, some opponents are concerned the system may not be fully functional.
The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee of the House Transportation and Utilities Committee voted last month to reject a $2 billion road toll proposal.
It is scheduled to come up for a vote on the committee’s next schedule in April.
But if the road toll does pass, the transportation commission has already agreed to spend $4.5 million over three years to improve Florida’s road infrastructure.
The plan includes a $200 million capital investment program and a $100 million fund to fund road improvements.
