President Donald Trump’s chief of staff and counselor, John Kelly, has repeatedly claimed that President Donald J. Trump is a racist.
The former chief of the Marine Corps and a retired Army general said at a House Armed Services Committee hearing in January that he has no problem calling Trump a racist in his remarks.
Kelly said, “I will never apologize to him.
I will never ever, ever, apologize.”
In the same speech, Kelly said that he was not in favor of “polarizing rhetoric” and that he had “always been a strong supporter of the First Amendment and the right to free speech.”
Kelly said in that same speech that he never “condemns a single person who expresses an opinion, whether it’s a racist, a sexist, a bigot or a xenophobe.”
In January, Kelly told reporters at the White House that “if somebody had a gun pointed at my head and said, ‘Go back to where you came from,’ I would shoot them.”
