Kottaryam: Kerala Police on Saturday arrested 10 suspected militants from Kollam who were allegedly trying to enter the state from Kolkata.
The police said they were tracking the suspects who were caught in a traffic jam along the Kottiyam-Moora highway near the junction of the Vassar and Nalanda highways.
The suspects were caught during a traffic stop at Vassal, about 30km from Kooripatnam, where they were apprehended after the Kollalam police station was alerted by police.
They were arrested for the crimes of robbery, possession of explosives and possessing weapons of mass destruction.
They have been produced before a court in Kollamy district.
The five-member police team was sent to Koorapatnam police station for questioning, where the accused were lodged under Sections 302 and 506 of the IPC.
