Police in New Jersey have been caught using traffic cameras to catch thieves.
The footage has been circulating on social media in recent days and shows two men stealing a van at gunpoint from a local business on Tuesday.
“You’re just looking at a video of two people with a vehicle in front of a business in Camden,” said the officer in the video, who said the man and the woman were wearing blue gloves and masks.
“They didn’t even blink.”
The officers involved have been identified as a sergeant and a deputy constable.
The department did not immediately respond to ABC News’ request for comment.
It’s not the first time the police department has used the tactic.
A similar video appeared to show officers using traffic camera footage to catch an alleged drug dealer.
Police said they had no idea the video was of a robbery until it was posted on social-media last week.
“We’ve got officers who are in this business.
We know how to handle this.
We just don’t know where the footage came from,” Sergeant Anthony Pascarella said.
Pascarella added that the department was investigating the incident.
“If it’s not a crime, we don’t need it in our footage,” he said.
